For over 65 years, St John Bosco Wilderness Camp has been offering unique spring and summer camp experiences in Saskatchewan's pristine wilderness to youth seeking adventure in nature. Today we urgently need your help to restore camp after the devastating Shoe Fire swept through our property in May 2025, destroying cherished spaces where young people learned, grew, and connected with nature.
In an effort to save the main camp area and buildings, we worked hard on fire preparation to mitigate as much damage as possible. While this effort was successful in saving our main buildings, we mourn the loss of Naturelore, the Archery Range, and the Bosco campsites. These cherished places held countless memories that will not be forgotten! ♥️
While we remain confident in being able to run our summer programs safely and effectively, we have incurred significant costs from the purchase of fire mitigation equipment (over $20,000 to date for pumps, hoses, sprinklers, and fuel to keep equipment running) and loss of income due to the cancellation of our June school group programs. Our expenses continue to rise while fires are still burning through Narrow Hills Provincial Park.
How your donation helps:
- Purchase of replacement of bows, arrows and targets for our archery program
- Reconstruction of our archery range destroyed in the fire
- Construction of new tenting sites to accommodate campers
- New costs arising from adapting our programs which rely on remote campgrounds destroyed by the fire
Join our Recovery Journey
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help with our recovery efforts going forward to continue offering a wilderness camping adventure for our youth. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign amplifies our reach. Together, we can ensure Bosco rises stronger - for the youth who need it most.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your generosity rebuilds more than buildings; it reignites the spark of adventure, resilience, and connection for generations to come.
Donate today and help us write a new chapter for St. John Bosco Wilderness Camp.
Any excess funds raised beyond our immediate forest fire recovery needs will be deposited to our Dining Hall Campaign and used for the construction of a new dining hall facility.
