HELP Marti Ogborn rebuild after St George UT Flood

Donation protected
On Sunday, August 23, St. George, UT was ravaged by heavy rains and severe flooding. Tragically, our friend and colleague Marti Ogborn’s home was in its path. While floodwater filled the main floor of her house, Marti was forced to call 911 for help to be evacuated. No one came. She was sitting outside in the storm for hours until a friend finally came by to check on her. Luckily, her friend was able to assist Marti in evacuating - with her two dogs and cat, safely to another friend’s house where she’ll stay until she is back on her feet.
Here is what you need to know about Marti. She is always the first one to donate to a cause and would give you the shirt off her back. She is incredibly kind and would never ask anyone for a thing if she thought she was putting them out (hence the reason she sat in the rain, waiting for help).
This is our opportunity to show her what it is like to be on the receiving end of kindness.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. Sadly, homeowner’s insurance will not pay a penny for this devastation, as it was not in a flood zone. While the Governor of Utah has declared a state of emergency, it will take time to apply for and receive any type of assistance. Marti, quite literally, was able to evacuate with just a few personal items, her mobile phone and her company-issued laptop, even leaving behind her personal one. While the damage is still being assessed, the rule of thumb is that anything touched by floodwater must be discarded. Her home will need drywall, carpet, flooring, electrical and new furniture, which is the reason for the big ask.

Imagine losing everything in a matter of minutes. Not to mention the amount of time and money it would take you to rebuild. HiCaliber, a company specializing in cleaning services, general contracting and restorations services, has already assessed the damage and estimates up to approximately $100,000 for Marti to rebuild and replace what was lost. One could only hope for the kindness and generosity of others to help you get there.

Any donation will help make an impact on rebuilding her life. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
