Located in the heart of the up & coming area of Astoria, New York - where the coffee's popping, the Greek food is smoking and the expenses are rising - we need your help to pay off our Church's mortgage and keep up with expenses .
26 years ago a group of eager, Christ-loving Coptic Orthodox people came together to worship Christ in a rented basement in Astoria. There, these 5-6 people celebrated the 5000+ year old traditions and the Eucharist of the Orthodox Church.
3 years later, they were finally able to buy a building (an old funeral home) to call it their own.
Today, St. George Coptic Orthodox Church's loving 250+ congregation (made up of new comers and first generation house holds) are looking to solidify this building as their home and maintain it for generations to come.
To do this, the church is seeking to raise $500,000.
