Thanks very much for clicking on our link.
Unfortunately one of the downsides to playing the game we love over 9000 miles away from home, is injuries.
Our camogie star, Eilís McGrath twisted her knee badly at camogie training on Thursday, 11th of July in the build up to the championship final. Her MRI results showed an ACL rupture, full thickness tearing of her medial meniscofemoral ligament and tears in both the medial and lateral meniscus. She done a proper job on it!
Eilís is getting surgery on the 10th of September for ACL reconstruction. Due to her line of work she was off for over a week at the time of injury and will be out of work for 4-6 weeks post surgery.
Thankfully, Eilís does have health insurance and Medicare which will hopefully cover some of the hospital and surgery costs. The surgery is estimated to be $5,800. This insurance won't assist with her living expenses or loss of earnings whilst on the road to recovery.
We ask all club members and friends to assist in this fundraiser to support her through the recovery.
Thanks again
