This campaign was initiated by Pat Simmons, the Board Chair of St. Francis of Assisi Wildlife Association, Inc. St. Francis Wildlife Association, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. SFW has been caring for injured and orphaned wild animals since 1978.  Our wildlife sanctuary, located in a beautiful forest near Tallahassee, Florida, is in constant need of upgrades and repairs.

All of the money collected through this campaign is directly withdrawn by St. Francis Wildlife (nothing comes to Pat) and goes directly to the upgrades needed to our hospital facility so we can best care for thousands of orphaned and injured wild animals that come into our medical care.

Since 2018, these Go Fund Me donations  have helped make the following improvements to our 30 year old hospital facility and grounds:  our electrical system has been assessed with some questionable wiring replaced, we have installed an additional electrical breaker box so we can run half the building on one gas powered generator, we have added a new ventless A/C unit in the Rabies Vector room and replaced a window unit in the Song Bird room, made desperately needed repairs to our bumpy  access road, replaced exterior doors and old sinks, countertops and backsplashes, replaced the water well pump, and rebuilt outdoor enclosures where animals are reconditioned before being returned to the wild.

Hurricane Michael roared through our area and totally destroyed two of our fawn pens and crashed large oak trees onto  the hospital roof.  We have rebuilt a new, spacious fawn pen complete with feeding stations. Our roof was replaced with extra high-wind strappings.  The back deck where we wash and disinfect equipment and kennels was destroyed, but has been rebuilt with a new sink and counter space.

There is much still to be done, including drilling a NEW WELL.

Your donation will help continue with much needed repairs, maintenance, and upgrades ALL of which benefits our wild patients!

Your kindness when making a donation to St. Francis Wildlife helps sustain donations to the oldest and largest wildlife rehabilitation center in North Florida.  We receive an average of  3,000 injured, orphaned, and sick wild animals each year.  These animals receive  humane care so they can be released back into the wild. Every one of them is grateful for your donation!

We receive hundreds of orphaned babies every year, from bunnies....

and raccoons...

...to songbirds and,

turtles, and tortoises.

Birds of prey (owls, hawks, ospreys, falcons, vultures, and eagles) come to us orphaned or injured.

One of our volunteers with a newly released woodpecker.

We care for hundreds of squirrels that come to us when they are blown out of their nests during  storms.

St. Francis Wildlife also rescues wild animals. In this photo, a hawk is being carefully removed from entanglement in a razor wire fence. The hawk was taken to our hospital, treated, and safely released.

This campaign will help maintain our entry road, continuously damaged by storm erosion. Imagine being a fawn with an injured hip and having to ride on a long, bumpy road to the hospital. Ouch!

After Hurricane Michael, our community came to our aid so we could get back to the business of helping wildlife. .

... to rehabilitate....

...and release them back to the wild.

Thank you for caring!!
