St Francis’ Way Camino Challenge for ALPS Ldt
Donation protected
When my friend Nóra asked me if I would like to embark on this mammoth adventure with her and 23 other novices, I didn’t hesitate as the Covid 19 crisis made me realise the importance of life and living.
None of us are professional walkers but I have no doubt that the crack, chat and
camaderie will spur us on to achieve our goal – to walk 120 km in 5 days following in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi in Italy.
ALPS – All Lives Are Precious – offer support and services on emotional wellbeing, mental health education and suicide prevention in our community. Mental Health and Suicide Prevention is everyone’s business and in doing this walk, we hope to
engage the community in a positive and open conversation about this topic.
We can only comprehend the real importance of this funding when the issues of Mental Health or Suicide visit ourselves or our loved ones. ALPS’s work has never been more important especially with the cutbacks in services – services our loved ones need but cannot access, often with tragic consequences.
Please know that every pound counts – every life counts.
Míle buíochas a chairde for your generosity.
