St Ann-St Mary Churches of Christ Youth Retreat

Hi, I'm Pastor Jacques Blackwell. The Churches of Christ in the rural parishes of St Ann and St Mary, Jamaica have had an annual youth retreat for the past 25 years. Due to covid-19 and the lockdowns and restrictions that followed, we have been unable to hold retreat for the past 2 years. We have also been unable to hold youth camps, VBS and other events since March 2020 which has left a void in fellowship for the youth in our rural congregations. This retreat encourages our rural youth in their walk with the Lord, and this year will be especially meaningful since it has been so long between events!

We are happy to say that we are in the advanced planning stages for Retreat 2022! It will be held November 11-13, 2022 with the theme "Awake" (Ephesians 5:14-18). We are, however, facing challenges. The retreat venue we have always used closed down during covid; we will be renting a venue at a much higher cost than we previously paid. The high cost of fuel and food is also challenging us, as we try to make the retreat as affordable as possible for all youth who would like to attend. We are anticipating having 60 young people attend, but we need help to finance it!

Would you consider helping to sponsor a young person for US $30? This will enable us to encourage many to come who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend. If you can sponsor more than one youth...GREAT! All funds received will go directly to help pay for the venue and food for the retreat.
