Our son Tadhg was born with a condition called ACC. This means he faces challenges in a number of areas and requires lots of support to reach his full potential. Tadhg is a very determined little boy, and he continues to improve and thrive, thanks to the efforts of some very hard-working and dedicated people, including the staff at St Anne’s Special School on The Curragh.

Last year Tadhg joined St Anne’s, and he has come on in leaps and bounds thanks to the support and hard work of the teachers, SNA’s and the entire school community. We are very lucky to have secured a place in a local school suitable for Tadhg’s needs and incredibly grateful to all the staff who have ensured Tadhg settled into his new school community, has had the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and most importantly to be himself and bring his personality and unique take on life into his school experience.

Like many schools, St. Anne’s struggles to secure the funding they require to provide the educational setting and supports they would like for their students. That’s why Tadhg and his Dad, Garry, are running the Dublin City Marathon on Sunday 26th October, to raise much-needed funds for St. Anne’s School, to allow them to develop and improve the invaluable learning environment they provide for Tadhg and all the students at St. Anne’s. A lot of hours, and 100’s of kilometres, have been put into the training and preparation so far, with plenty more to do, but it’ll all have been worthwhile when we’re crossing that finish line!
