St. Al's virtual walk from Carrig to Kitui 10000km

Unable to do our traditional Kitui Fundraiser for our SMG sister school in Kenya, we have come up with a fundraiser to include all students and teachers and to get everyone out and active. Starting on Monday the 23rd of November we plan to take on the huge challenge of a virtual walk to Kitui which is 10, 000 km away using the athletics track (200m)  on the school grounds. We hope to virtually arrive in Kitui on Friday the 11th of December. 

The religion teachers will help us chart our progress and students can bring a record of their steps to class weekly. We are asking each family to sponsor €10 as students embark on their challenge. On Friday the 11th we will hold a draw and one lucky family will win an apple iPad.

This money is really needed by our sister school in Kenya who face numerous challenges and changes in the midst of a global pandemic.
