132 children, mostly orphans, live under the watch of Ssuuna Fred and his 14 staff on the outskirts of Kampala. The objective of his school is not only to help some of the harder luck kids on Earth. (Each child has had at least one parent lost to AIDs.) It's to prepare them to premier secondary schools and vocations like medicine, journalism and teaching.
Right now they do it all with a budget less than what it takes to send one American child to prep school. That low budget takes its toll in terms of nutrition, medical care, learning and opportunity. Between Covid and drought, YILT has been severely tested. We can help them do better and ensure Africa has the next generation of great people to keep for the rest of the world.
