Partnering with Praying Pelican Missions over the last few years, our team of missionaries from Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Community are raising continuous funds to support our Mission Trips to Jamaica and Mexico for 2023.
As we have reflected on the last two years of ministry down in Ensenada, Mexico, we have created a lasting relationship with not only our team leaders of PPM that have guided our work but of our brothers and sisters of Christ that we have had the opportunity to serve. Our goal of continuing to Grow God’s work is to be able to see these relationships continue to blossom through the years to come. God calls us to serve, he says “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” (Romans 12:1)
These mission trips that we embark on are ways of reaching out a hand of unconditional love and kinship between different generations and cultures. Realizing that we are not that different from one another, we are one in the same with struggles and fears but saved by grace. God has called our hearts to expand our calling to ministry in Jamaica and to use our gifts that he has graciously given us in new ways.
We understand that your first thought of hearing Jamaica is filled with luscious palm trees and never-ending clear water beaches. However, this is not the side of Jamaica that many of the locals call home. We will be serving in communities that lack necessary resources that we take for granted every day. As we pursue this trip, we will work closely with the people of Jamaica to ensure that our service goes to things and needs of the community.
We are asking for support as we continue God’s calling through the next year of mission work in both returning to Ensenada and creating new lasting relationships in Jamaica. All of the funds we raise will go towards supporting our mission team in both locations.
