Help Recover Ah'Mir Watson's Body from River

On July 28, tragedy struck and we lost an amazing brother, son and friend.

Ah'Mir Watson, age 18 went missing and is presumed to have drowned in the Sacramento River attempting to save his 15 year old brother's life.

Ah'Mir, a loving, energetic jokester was the light of so many people's lives. The devastation that our family is experiencing is of course beyond unimaginable and there are rough times ahead. But we have  wonderful family and friends to get through this.

Our goal:

The parents of our missing "Hero" has agreed to allow me to set up this gofundme to seek help during this difficult time. They want to put the funds to good use, to assist with the search and ongoing associated expenses. We would like to use the money to hire trained divers due to the initial search being called off after six short days. Funds will cover search and rescue, travel expenses and lodging. Hopefully, the search will be successful and they wont need everything that was donated. If that is the case, we plan to donate the remaining funds to a good cause that will honor the hard work and dedication of professional & volunteer searchers.

Devastation hit when a sonar image returned what is said could be the body of Ah'Mir some 42 feet near the sight where he took his final breath before being swept under by the strong current. Safety concerns arose due to the lack of qualified divers and inadequate resources for Sutter County. Subsequently, the search was called off . We would like to thank Yolo, Sacramento and Butte Counties for their assistance with search efforts as well as the outpour of support in all aspects that we've received from the community.

A strong community made up of a mix of Ah'mirs' family and friends gathered recently to remember him at a candlelit vigil. That support is what is important, but if you have the means to donate, please consider doing so. Anything helps! Also, referrals to professional and volunteer divers are appreciated.

It is difficult to express how grateful the Watson family is. We ask that you please continue to keep our family in your prayers.
