Hi Friends of JP!! This is Rita Yee and I am simply posting for JP and helping him with his campaign communication. I am copying my post from Facebook this morning, just to keep things easier.
“I just spoke with JP this morning to find out the details of his surgery. I'm going to make an extremely long story as short as I can. About 11 months ago, JP started having issues of slurred speech and loss of balance, coinciding with plugged ear(s). He's seen numerous specialists since then, starting with an ENT, then moving on: Neurosurgeon, Cardiologists, Acupuncture therapists... The first diagnosis was an arachnoid cyst on his cerebellum, but everyone that saw the MRI results seemed convinced it wasn't the cause. The cardiologist found extreme blockage, so he had to deal with his heart issues. That did nothing to improve the initial problems, so his search for answers continued. The most recent neurologist said there is no other explanation for his speech and balance issues, so has scheduled his surgery for October 31st to remove the cyst. As you may know, being self-employed doesn't provide the best health insurance. He will be completely laid up for a month after surgery. The loss of work, combined with his medical bills, will take a toll. I know JP does everything he can to help his friends and loved ones when it is within his means. He needs our help now. If you're able, please do what you can!”
