For a long time I faced serious depression where I have even attempted suicide and cut myself severly. I was always left along by my parents, my mother whom abandoned me and moved away, and my father who is probably home one night a week when his girlfriend doesn't want him over.

I was so close to almost killing myself when a friend of mine at the time had a neighbor who was having kittens. I went over and met the love of my life. A little black kitten who could fit in the palm of my hand. She had the cutest little tuft white hair on her black chest and it was perfect. At first my dad told me no, but after a lot of begging I finally got a 'fine, but I'm not taking care of it' and with that, at six weeks old, I brought Luka home. 

Luka was everything I needed. She loved me very much and I loved her. The lonely nights weren't so lonely anymore and I've never felt as loved and needed and as I did with her. I stopped cutting and my suicidal thoughts seemed to die down dramatically. For the first time in years I had found happiness.

She's now a year old and today she had a very severe siezure and it's unsure exactly what caused it. The vets are having her over night and it seems right now she's stable, but to be sure they need to hospitalize her and run a lot of tests. If we refuse then they have to put her down. The entire bill is about $1600. My family (especially my dad) are urging me to just put her down instead and refuse to help me pay. Luka is more than just a pet to me. She's my child. My friend. My other half. If I lost her I don't know what I'd do, especially since she's so young. I fear that if she's gone not only will i be heartbroken, but I'd definately fall into an even worse depression than I was in even before. I'm only 17 years old, I work a part time job at subway and pay for everything myself. My parents are refusing to buy me things so everything I make is what I'm currently living off of. I really need your help to save Luka. Anything you can donate would help me out tremendiously. Luka comes first over anything in my life and I'd work to death if it meant I could save her life. Please, I'm begging you to donate what you can. Even just one dollar is so much help to me right.
