Donna needs surgery

Back in December, I adopted Donna from an animal shelter and it was honestly the best thing I've ever done. She's my best mate and she has really helped me through some tough times, this year especially. But now she needs help. Due to an unfortunate incident, Donna needs to undergo some surgery. The surgery is for her leg and will mean that she can avoid further injury and lifelong chronic pain (she's only just turned one). The vet has estimated the surgery will cost around 5-6 thousand dollars, possibly more.
I'm not super comfortable asking for help but due to COVID and number of other reasons I don't have 6 thousand dollars to spare.

I do have insurance but they will only cover a small portion of the fees and that's only after they've been paid in full.
With summer looming and most likely fires coming again (if you can help me get the money together) whatever comes back from insurance will be donated to Wildlife Victoria to help animals and wildlife affected by bushfires.
