On the spring 1st March of 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). 45% saturation of marrow. The news was crushing, but little did I know that the National Health Service (NHS) would become my beacon of hope, pulling me from the jaws of certain death.

The early days were a whirlwind of tests, consultations, and preparations for treatment. The NHS staff worked tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of my care was meticulously planned. I had no other option other than to take matters into my own hands. I went into self preservation mode,.I extracted myself from the potential situation that was developing. it was alarming and disheartening, and i’m now currently grappling with the idea of my continuing journey.
