I am a fundraiser for my dear friend of 57 years who was in a horrific car accident last week. She was driving to work around midnight when she came up over a hill on the FWY in the 2nd lane from the right only to smash into a dark, no lights on, abandoned SUV. Officers had already been dispatched to the location, but in Shaw’s words “I beat them there”. She was taken to the nearest trauma hospital with a right broken hip in two places including the socket broken off, the left radius broke requiring plates and pins, a right broken rib, an L-5 lumbar break, and left knee all ligaments torn, right toes and foot and left ankle severely swollen and bruised, lacerations from the broken glass covering her entire right forearm, and multiple bruises and cuts throughout the rest of her body. She currently has had 2 surgeries and will require extensive rehabilitation for the next several months to learn to sit up and eventually walk. For those who know her, her spirits are high and she is praising our Lord Jesus Christ. She told me it would be okay if she woke up tomorrow in his presence. However, her job is not complete here on Earth. She has to be one of the most kind, selfless, loving, human beings alive. She gives expecting nothing in return and even though she will not ask for herself, I am asking for your financial help for her.
