This campaign is to help Chris Cochran, his wife Brie and their two kids with the financial burden that Chris' medical expenses are going to leave them with. Those of you who know Chris, know how far and hard he has come and worked the past few years to get his life to where he is now. We are so proud of his progress and thank God every day that Chris is in a good place with his life.
December 2015, Chris had an accident at work that left him unable to work for a little over a month. For anyone, this is financially stressful, especially when you have a family to support. Chris was unable to catch a break unfortunately and just before he was able to go back to work, he suffered a mild heart attack. Doctors were stumped due to tests coming back normal. After days of monitoring at the hospital, Chris was released and was allowed to go back to work in February. Two weeks after returning to work, Chris wasn't feeling well. He was having a hard time sleeping and had what felt like kidney pain. After a couple nights of excruciating pain and no sleep, Chris decided to go to the doctor's for what he thought could be kidney stones. Tests were done and Chris received some scary news; the top part of his left kidney appeared to be necrotic (dead). Chris was admitted to the ER where several tests were done to figure out what had caused the necrosis in his left kidney. After having an ultra sound on his heart, doctors found a mass located in one of his heart chambers by one of the valves. The doctors believe that this (unknown) mass had a piece dislodge off of it, and that piece traveled down to his kidney where it cut off blood supply, therefore killing that portion of his kidney. Lucky for Chris, it only made it to his kidney. The situation could have been much worse and traveled up to his brain (worse case scenario).
Chris is currently at the hospital where he is waiting to have open heart surgery on March 11, 2016.
Our family is grateful he is still here with us, and we are also grateful that doctors were able to find a solution. We are nervous about his surgery, but know he is in good hands.
It is always difficult to ask for financial help, but anything really is appreciated. Chris has not been able to work very much the past couple months, and the last thing we want him to focus on are his financial burdens that are to come. We want his focus to be on his recovery and his health.
We appreciate the love and support we have received so far. Please continue to pray, share and donate whatever you can. Every bit helps.
Thank you all so much,
