Hi, my name is Mia.
I was born with a condition called renal hypoplasia, which means my kidneys were made too small for my body. Over time, my condition worsened, leaving me extremely fatigued and sick.
Recently, I was blessed with a second chance at life—an amazing friend of mine selflessly donated his kidney to save me. Thanks to him, I am already feeling so much better and slowly adjusting to a life I’ve never known before: life as a healthy person.
The hardest part now is managing the cost of my anti-rejection medications. As many of you know, these medications are extremely expensive, and unfortunately, my insurance only covers a portion of what I need. One of the medications I must take is $1,500 in total, with a $500 copay each month. Thankfully, I will only need this particular medication for about 6 months—but right now, while I’m on medical leave through FMLA and unable to work, it’s a huge financial challenge.
I am reaching out for help with these expenses. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping me stay healthy and continue recovering.
I am so excited to finally step into the life I’ve dreamed of—one where I feel like a normal, healthy human again. Thank you all so much for your kindness, love, and support during this journey.
With love and gratitude,
Mia
