Sri Lanka needs Humanity
Donation protected
All dressed up in very high spirits,
They went to church to celebrate the miracles of the Holy Spirit.
What a beautiful time that is known as Easter
In the eyes of Sri Lankans, it ended in disaster.
A blessed day was all that they had prayed for,
With no regard to their innocence, came a bitter demise that they never hoped for.
We cannot imagine the wicked minds behind this sadistic activity,
It's just sad to see you spreading so much hatred and negativity.
You may have tried to bring us despair and tragedy,
What you will get is a taste of our faith and unity.
Although it may seem, this was a catastrophe you hurled,
We want you to understand how insignificant you are on the face of this world.
Please stand with us and let's get Sri Lanka back on her feet.
The Tragedy
This Easter Sunday the 21st of April, many Sri Lankans met with a gruesome fate and many are yet fighting the clutches of death. Cause of this disaster was an extremist coordinated attack, bombing densely crowded churches and hotels. The terror continues, the island remains in a state of emergency as the defense forces seek out further radical elements lingering inside the community.
Currently, the death toll is 259, along with 500 persons hospitalized.
The light after the Storm
Following this heartbreaking event, we are very grateful to see many positive aspects of the Sri Lankan community.
Unfaltering Unity
Hundreds of beautiful souls have lined up to donate blood at many blood banks, to an extent that they have been refused. As a multicultural community, people have remained exceptionally strong and united throughout this time of crisis.
A Courageous and Authoritative Defence force.
With the country under Emergency regulations, the fearless defense forces are hunting the remnants of this extremism. We have witnessed three police officers who committed the ultimate sacrifice facing an extremist, We are indescribably grateful on your bravery. To the defense forces, ‘You are our pride’ and we remain safe because you put your lives on the line for us.
We are tremendously grateful to see the support from international defense services, you have played a huge role in stabilizing this situation and the safety of the community.
Astounding Medical staff and emergency teams.
Hospital staff has been working tirelessly under huge pressure due to the high volume of casualties. Words cannot explain the magnitude of your services but you have definitely earned our greatest honor and gratitude.
What can we do?
We weep for the innocent that we lost but the survivors remain approachable to a helping hand.
Assistance is desperately needed at Hospitals, starting from emergency needs followed by the long term rehabilitation needs of the victims.
Our goal is to ensure that all the casualties are provided with the necessities to fully recover and return to a normal life. We seek out your assistance to financially strengthen this steadfast attempt to make a difference and overturn the effects of this horrifying terrorist attack.
Beautiful People of this world, you have continuously shown us that there is no greater faith than that in Human kindness. Thank you for taking the time to read this message and for sending your thoughts and prayers towards our mother Sri Lanka. We are grateful for any donations made, we will ensure that all the funds will be provided to the victims.

1. Most of the organisers of this GoFund me come from towns that have been impacted by the terror attacks. We all know families and friends who have been directly lost family members. Having all been born in SriLanka and all living in Australia, we felt that we could make small difference by raising funds for medical expenses and the rehabilitation of the community.
2. The funds will be donated through Seth Sarana Caritas Colombo to be used in the Psycho-Social & Pastoral Supportive Program.
