My cousin Sridevi (Age : 22) is admitted into local hospital more than a month ago.
She was then admitted to Intensive care unit(ICU) in KIMS for treatment of heavy bleeding and breathing challenges within a week. The doctors at KIMS couldn't treat her due to the multiple health challenges she is going through.
She was then transferred to NIMS as the condition was getting more and more worse on a daily basis.
They performed multiple tests in the past few weeks and she has been diagnosed with multiple clots in her Heart and Lungs, a rare blood related disease where her WBC has been around 18000 (A normal person has ~ 1,30,000 WBC's)
After diagnosis, treatment and daily blood transfusion for over 3 weeks her WBC have only been up to 25000.
She is currently undergoing bone marrow tests to check for the causes of non improving blood cell count and any chances of cancer.
She is currently still getting artificial air pumped into her lungs. She still needs to be treated for clots in her heart and lungs which is expected to cost around $10,000 apart from the costs for the other treatments she is going through and the hospital/ICU costs for over a month.
