Sri Murugan Society of Alberta (SMS), Calgary Bharathi Kalai Mandram (CBKM) and Calgary Navalar Cultural Society (CNCS) extends warm gratitude to everyone who participated and attended the virtual “Calgary Celebrates Tamil Heritage Month”.  This year has been challenging to everyone, it did not deter our will to come together not only to celebrate Thai Pongal but our Tamil heritage as recognized by Government of Canada. Likewise, it was heartening to see our young talents showcasing their interest and love for our Tamil language, heritage, and culture.

Thai Pongal cultural show has played an important role for fund raising through donations and tickets sales. The event typically attracts around 50 participants and enjoyed by more than 200 hundred audiences. This year has been especially challenging for Sri Murugan Temple that relies on these events and community donations for its operation.

This GoFundMe campaign seeks community support to help with Sri Murugan Temple, during this difficult time. 100% of your donations will be used towards temple operations. Your donation will go a long way to help Sri Murugan Temple to weather the storm and come out stronger.
