Sri Lankan Lawn Bowls Team
Donation protected
It's been a tough couple of years with covid and the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, which resulted in us losing our only green. But we are still passionate about our sport, we continue to train (on cricket pitches) and look forward to competing internationally again this year. Your support will help us build a new green, attend international competitions and continue building the profile of lawn bowls within Sri Lanka.
Please watch our video to learn more about our team:
Location
A sports club in Colombo 7 has allocated land on their site to build 2 rinks. The space is available and ready for construction to begin. The leading sports club is home to Cricket, Tennis, Swimming, Squash and soon we hope, also Lawn Bowls.
The Urban Development Authority has agreed to secure new land to build a full green in the Battharamulla, Western Province, after they repossessed the 80 Sports Club where the former green was being built. It is excepted that this land will be ready for construction at the end of 2023.
The Costs
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to build 2 rinks in Colombo, and to support our team to attend international tournaments in 2023.
Should we exceed this target, any additional funding will be put towards building a full green in Battharamulla.
Thank you for supporting us on this journey, and sharing in our dream to compete in the 2026 Commonwealth Games!
