At Least 100 Dead, More Than 400 Wounded After Blasts Suicide Bombers target Catholic Churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday
Some images were way too graphic to post.. Please keep everyone in #SriLanka in your prayers. ☦️
St. Anthony’s Shrine, a Catholic church in Colombo, and St. Sebastian’s Church in Negombo, a city about 20 miles north of the capital were targeted in this terrorist attack by suicide bombers.
ALL FUNDS WILL GO TO HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE ATTACK AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAT WERE ATTACKED.“O Risen Christ, Redeemer of the human race, enlighten and guide all those who are building peace, every day and in every corner of the globe, at the cost of great sacrifices. O Victor over death, strengthen the artisans of justice and peace…where hopes for peaceful co-existence are still jeopardized by recourse to force and violence. Comfort those who reject the inevitability of ethnic rivalries…Allay the sufferings of those who are subjected to the violence of arms…May hope not be extinguished in those who trust that at last a hearing will be given to their legitimate aspirations to employment, to housing, to greater social justice and true freedom of conscience and religion, hindered at times by the intransigence precisely of the followers of other religions.” -St. John Paul II
We are Catholic Connect LLC from The Woodlands, TX and we will be giving the money fundraised to multiple charities that will help Sri Lanka victims. Some of the charities may include Caritas
, Open Doors USA
, Opus Dei
, Missionaries of Charity
, and a few others we are still trying to contact. For tax purposes we need to prove that the money went to these organizations so we are not taxed on this money. We will be posting updates with detailed descriptions of the charities we end up giving the funds to. We will be asking each charity to make sure the money goes specifically to help Sri Lanka.
The thing that ties Catholic Connect and the other charities we will be giving to is that we are all Christian organizations wanting to help Sri Lanka after the terrible incident that occurred. We will be withdrawing the money to our bank account and redirecting the funds to the charities we end up choosing to help Sri Lanka.
