THIS IS IMPORTANT. We all know people with troubles. This is about one of my friends. Please take a minute or two to read it. Some of her friends are working on a crowdfunding page for her. Give it some thought please. Here is her story:
****
"My cancer story began in November 2010. As a single mom, widowed at 29, raising my two boys, I was diagnosed with Stage 2b Breast Cancer. Opting for a bilateral mastectomy and 4 rounds of chemotherapy, I lost my hair and felt awful. But I was alive. Putting that all behind me took two years but I then began to resume my daily life as normal as it can be when raising two boys. Raising them alone after their dad died was never a question for me, they are mine and my responsibility and I am loving them into men. In 2012 I experienced pain but thought it was a yoga injury. However, when it wouldn't leave, I went to the doctor. He told me the cancer had returned and I now had a tumor wrapped around a vertebrae. Not removing it could very likely lead to paralysis. So, I immediately began radiation treatments and devising a treatment plan. But plans don't always work out the way we think, do they? I began a clinical trial that didn't work for me and then switched to a very dangerous chemo that thus far is also not working. I am now sick, weak, and very anemic. I developed an infection that caused a 5-day hospital stay as well as removing the implant. So here I am... facing two more operations and facing the biggest challenges of my life. I'm working with an excellent naturopathic doctor to restore my little 119lb body to give it a fighting chance to beat this deadly cancer once and for all. One decision is whether to forego the chemo and try the many "natural" alternative treatments out there. And that brings me to my biggest challenge and the one you might be able to help me with... I'm on disability and can't afford all this craziness in my life. I need and am asking for help. Whatever the amount, I promise it will go to good use. I want to see my grandchildren some day. I want to live. Will you help?
