I am Jeff Head, husband to Janet Head. Janet and I started dating in August of 1983, married in October of 1983. For over thirty years, we have raised our family together, our son having Schizophrenia. Through those years, we have always known that we would grow old together. No matter what life could throw at us, we were always a team, always inseparable. We always made it our top priority to love one another first and then take on life together as it came.
Life for us once again came on January 2, 2016 during a trip to the Emergency Room for what we thought was a Kidney Stone; instead I was informed of a baseball-sized tumor on my right Kidney.
As you might have guessed, a tumor of this size is not something one ignores. My doctor is telling me that removal as quickly as possible is the only option at this point. We are looking at February as the target date. The test that I have taken so far show that all the Cancer is on the kidney itself and has not spread to any other organs. This of course will have to be confirmed later after my kidney has been removed. I hope that this procedure will resolve this Cancer though.
Life for my family has change dramatically over the last couple of days. In just the span of a few short hours, we now are learning to take things one day at a time. We are learning, as we look at our situation, that a feeling of helplessness is beginning to set in. We will of course not let that feeling rule the day but instead do everything we can do as always to stand together, to fight this battle as well. This will be difficult though with just having started in a new career and our finances at a low.
Life will be difficult indeed, until we can get past this cancer and back to work. To help with expenses so that we can get the surgery done, it was suggested we try gofundme.com.
In the past, I have dedicated most of my career to making the world safer. Going forward I will always carry this view on. I believe strongly in the Pay It Forward movement. It has always been and always will be a part of who Jeff and Janet is. I want to assure you that in the coming days, even as I fight this battle, I will continue my writing and the work I started so many years ago. I will indeed, to the best of my ability pay it forward each time I get a chance.
I know there is more work to be done, and I will always be ready for the challenge.
Please feel free to private message me on Facebook if you have any questions.
Thank You so very much for taking the time to look over the needs of our family
