About Us:
Self Realization Fellowship (Yogoda Satsanga Society of India ) was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to disseminate Kriya Yoga, a path of definite scientific techniques for attaining direct personal experience of God. For more information you can watch the trailer for the documentary Awake.
The Toronto Centre of Self Realization Fellowship (legal name Toronto Yogoda Meditation Centre) needs your help! We have been actively searching for a place of our own for over 15 years to meditate, hold special services, socials, Monastic Visits and have our children attend Sunday School.
Science of Meditation:
Meditation with an emphasis on mindfulness, as Paramahansa Yogananda teaches , has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, decrease depression and anxiety, increase focus, and improve working memory. Harvard studies show that the brain actually changes in individuals with depression that meditate.
