I feel like the majority of these things start out with “we hate to have to ask for money but…” and so mine will too. If you know me then you know I despise asking for help, but you also know I’d do anything for my kids and this is for my baby girl so here I am.
Over the past year and a half Maddison has gone through 3 oral surgeries due to one stubborn front tooth that never grew into place. The first 2 surgeries were to add and then redo a device that would pull the tooth down into place over time. After having that in for an extended amount of time it was determined it was not actually pulling the one tooth down, it was causing the surrounding teeth to be pulled up. The final surgery was to remove that stuck tooth all together. Leaving an empty space where her front tooth should be.
Due to her age and the possibility of her mouth changing before she is done growing they are unable to do an implant right now. So, she has a retainer with a fake tooth on it currently-this retainer will also keep the teeth where they are so they don’t shift to close that space being held for her front tooth. This retainer cannot stay in while she eats and needs to be adjusted to fit flat on the roof of her mouth. The orthodontist won’t adjust until it’s paid for.
We seen a general dentist who can make another retainer that she can wear while eating and isn’t as noticeable. This retainer would not be covered completely by my insurance.
Even if we weren’t in the situation we are in right now with being forced to move, the extra money still wouldn’t be there because I’m just a mom trying to make it in a world that is increasingly more expensive every time you turn around. I could have her wait until tax time and will if this doesn’t work out but she’s a 14 year old girl who just started high school and while looks aren’t everything, I just want her to be as confident as she can be.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for reading and donating if you are able.
