On the 21st of September, SRC Infrastrucutre and Hulkro Construction are taking on The Great River Race, a spectacular boat race covering 21.6 miles from Millwall Dock in the East to Richmond in the West, travelling under London’s famous bridges.
We are undertaking this challenge with our local charity partner, Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Center, who we have held multiple fundraisers for in the past. They are helping make this challenge possible for us by providing the boats, equipment, and specialist staff.
We are therefore fundraising for SBOAC, and helping them continue doing amazing work in the local area. They offer safe yet exhilarating sports, both on and off the water, for people of all abilities. But it's not just about outdoor activities, it's about pushing boundaries, finding courage in oneself, and forging life-long friendships.
In an area where child poverty rates hit a heart-breaking 56%, this oasis provides a lifeline. Children with disabilities find a warm embrace here, where specialised staff and adapted equipment create a safe space for adventure. Autism, sight impairments, wheelchair use – these are not barriers, but gateways to a world where everyone can thrive.
The team are training hard and are ready to take on the race for SBOAC! We invite you to support our journey by donating to help us reach our targeted fundraising goal of £4000. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us reach our goal and makes a meaningful impact.
