This senior couple was displaced from their quaint home following a fire that destroyed a significant portion of the house they own at 93 Governor Terrace in East Irondequoit NY on Thursday June 23, 2016. The couple will remain eternally grateful for every coin, dollar, donation of goods or contractor time and talent, donated to this campaign. [photos below]

Mary Pat Caliri-Jouppi and Bob Jouppi are a retired senior couple, both age 83. They have survived many troubling times together including disabling illness. But this fire made a significant physical and emotional impact on them. The cost of repairs adds a huge financial burden to an already bare-bones existence.
This campaign is to help the couple make repairs that will require several months to complete. Friends and family would like to see them move back into their home before the ThanksGiving and Christmas holidays.

According to Laurelton Fire Department, firefighters were called to the home around 3:45 p.m. for the report of a garage fire. Upon arrival, the fire had already spread to a large portion of the house.
Spokespersons for Laurelton FD gave this account: ". . . there were two elderly people in the house, including one confined to a wheelchair. Quick thinking neighbors were able to help the couple escape without injury".
Friends who know the couple well said the home encountered serious structural damages and the repairs are only partially covered by their homeowners insurance.
"I have never known such a selfless person as Mary Pat", says long time friend Preston Turner. "She tries to lead a very active life, donating time and energy to many causes including drug awareness & drug abuse. Up until the last couple years, she collected anything she could for the Open Door Mission & other agencies. Mary Pat would give you the shirt off her back even if it was the last one she had . . . and, her husband Bob has been right at her side doing anything he could to help with her endeavors"
Laurelton FD was assisted by firefighters from Ridge Culver FD, West Webster FD, and the Rochester NY Fire Department. Contractors willing to donate supplies or talent to this effort may contact the originator of this campaign by reply to this ad via GoFundMe services. Photos of the damages follow:
