The Carr Fire in Redding, CA has destroyed the houses of both my brother and sister and their families. They were part of the first major evacuation in the area on Thursday, July 26th. Both woke up without power and had to navigate, in the dark, trying to grab what they needed.
The Keswick area where my brother, his wife, and their 4 year old son lived has been reduced to ashes. The pictures below show what is left of my sister's home, my childhood home.

My sister, Jamie, her husband, Brett, and their three daughters, 5 year old Cristina and 4 year old twins Kiera and Mackenzie, woke up at 4 am Thursday morning sweating. The power had gone out, leaving them without air conditioning. Jamie decided to check the status of the Carr fire while she was up, only to realize that evacuations of her area had started 2 hours prior. They gathered the girls, their three goats, dog, turtle and some clothes, not thinking that this would be the last time they would see their home standing.
They have no insurance on the house or their belongings. Nearly everything they owned burned with the house.

My brother, Josh, his wife, Lynsie, and their son, Carter woke up to a knock on the door at 4 am and were told to evacuate immediately. In the middle of night they gathered what they could think of.
Money was already tight. Carter had been a 28 week preemie and spent his first three months of life in NICU. The medical bills for this time and subsequent operations have resulted in about $10,000 of debt, including $200/month for his feeding tube.

We are so grateful that everyone made it out alive. Nothing is more important than that, but would appreciate any help to get them back on their feet.
All funds raised will be split 50/50 between the two families.
Lynsie Brushett will be set up as the beneficiary and all funds raised will go to her to distribute to her own family and the Gabel Family.
