Four hundred seventy-three million children, almost nineteen percent of the world’s child population, lived in a war-torn country as of 2024. Every day, children face the consequences of the political unrest around them. One of the most distressing effects of this instability is the loss of their right to education. Education should not be a privilege; it should be a fundamental promise made to all children. Children in war-torn countries have either missed out on more than a year of education or haven’t been able to attend school as it has been damaged and destroyed. This has left more than 52 million children scampering for cover and protection rather than enjoying their youth rights of education. Being a part of these minority groups has left an upset feeling, knowing that we barely make the cut of children who have the privilege of education.
By bringing a striving community together with people from all over the world, we can help those that are less fortunate together. No matter where they come from, they are people and children too.
