Sqwinks came to me underweight, with horrible upper respiratory issues, and couldn't even hold his head up. After calling around to see what meds could help him, I hit a dead end; everyone said euthanasia would be best. Euthanasia? No way. This little kitten was a life, and everything gets a chance with me. I finally made the decision to ask the best wildlife rehabber I know to help, and she came through for me as she always does. Three days later, Sqwinks wouldn't eat, and I thought I was losing him. I then started critical care with him, and in three days, he started eating again and hasn't stopped since. It was awesome to watch his eyes get better and see him being able to run around and play. Undoubtedly, that right eye just wouldn't heal and scar over for him. The decision was made to have that eye removed. We also determined he is completely blind in the left eye as well. This doesn't stop Sqwinks. He is just like every other kitten - he wants to play and get as much love as he can. I've made the decision that he can't be adopted out because I'm all he has known since he was three weeks old, living outside. ❤️ Sqwinks will have an amazing life here. He will have two big brothers, Marty and Prince, and the very loving Miss Hope.
