On Monday, June 29, 2020 our sweet family pet Squirt was attacked by a loose dog. The dog who attacked Squirt was a large dog (90 lbs.) and pinned him down while viciously attacking Squirt’s back legs leaving him almost lifeless.

 Our Family, as well as Squirt is traumatized. My stepfather who is a double amputee and a veteran (who was walking him) definitely is feeling helpless and traumatized because he couldn’t defend his own dog in a time of danger. 

Squirt is a loyal and faithful service dog to my Stepfather.  Squirt is serviced as a emotional support dog, and is a beloved family pet.

He was rushed to Philadelphia Animal Hospital where he recently underwent emergency surgery to try and save his life. Luckily, none of the bites pierced any vital organs. He is currently receiving IVs and staying at the hospital. 

The surgery was successful, and Squirt is able to keep his left leg that they possibly though would have to be amputated. We are so thankful for the doctors and staff at Philadelphia Animal Hospital for working so hard to give our Squirt another chance.

Currently, we are searching for the owner of the other dog. We have an idea of where he lives but are very concerned, he isn’t going to put up any financial support for the damages his dog caused our dog. 

Until we find him to hold him financially responsible, we are struggling to cover the surgery & hospital stay ourselves. My stepfather is a disabled veteran and already has medical bills of his own. This was very unexpected, and we are asking if anyone would like to donate. Your donation would mean the absolute world to us during this difficult time. We are so grateful to have squirt alive and we are hoping it will be a speedy, and full recovery process for him.
