UPDATE:

Friday, Squirrel had to be taken in for surgery to save his life. We found a vet willing to do it lower than the 8k and 6k we were quoted from other places.

The surgery quote is sitting between 3600-4800, but he is having to stay more days so it may be hitting the higher part of the range.

He is at Malibu Coast Animal Hospital in Southern California

Surgery was successful in removing 50+ stones from his bladder & urethra..

Unfortunately, his bladder has endured a lot of damage and bleeding from the stones.

SATURDAY:

Doctor called and let us know kidney levels were elevated but starting to go down. His body was acting like it had blockages but there was not so they put another catheter to help him.

As of Sunday morning, his kidney levels have gone down back to normal thankfully! But he is not eating and is uncomfortable. The catheter is still in to help him pee. They are giving him lots of love and trying to get him to eat.

Any donations will help alleviate the cost that we just cannot afford of the surgery. We thank each and every person who has helped and is willing to help save this sweet boys life.

Hi everyone, my name is Cady and Squirrel is our precious 2.5-year-old rotty baby, our son's best friend.

The other day, he stopped eating, drinking, strained really hard to pee and just couldn't... He was taken in yesterday and had an obstruction in his urethra as well as stones in his bladder.

They did a procedure to push the stone back up to try to take medicine to shrink them to try and pass, which has cost over $1,500 already. They unfortunately found more stones than they can count...

They are now saying surgery is needed as he is having another obstruction this morning and is now passing blood in stool and cannot pee, and won't drink or eat.

This surgery will cost around $8k and needs to be done ASAP, and unfortunately, all of the programs locally have currently exhausted funding.

We don't want to lose our baby, our best fur friend, the sweetest big boy in the world. He doesn't deserve any of the pain he is in.
