This little 5 and half year old is Squee! and she's been fighting for her life since July 13th 2020. She refuses to eat, has stopped talking, barely moves, wheezes and cries when I pick her up. Eventually things progressed into internal bleeding / bleeding from the mouth, extremely high liver and kidney levels, mini seizures, vomiting and painful constipation. Followed by multiple examinations and x-rays. antivirals and antibiotics with daily IV bags, overnight stays at the vets and injection meds. At this point it looks like she's been poisoned, and being an indoor cat with a huge drive for food, it's suspected that someone intentionally did this to her. I have no proof, but I'm working on it.
She went viral on Reddit after I made a post about her amazing recovery and the support was so overwhelming with so many stories about similar instances I couldn't believe it! To keep her alive I've done hourly feedings, kept strict schedules, cancelled all work appointments and put my faith in the vets hands. At first I was able to manage the payment plan the vet and I had worked out, she's extremely reasonable and patient and cares so much about the animals that come to see her for help they deserve every cent for their effort. Unfortunately that plan was made before she had a bad day and crashed quite severely.
So far it has cost me $4000 just keeping her alive and it's destroying me to think she's come so far and might not make it because I can't afford the bills. It's roughly $600/IV bag and she needs 1 a day with over night observation, plus the cost of testing and examinations like x-rays and MRIs that are specialized equipment I don't know how much more I can do on my own.
Please help me bring her home safe and healthy, Johnny (her brother) and I miss her constant meowing and in your face love. At this point she doesn't need surgery but that's not off the table yet. It looked like she had given up, she didn't struggle when I put her in the car, she barely opened her eyes and the little mews that escaped from her I thought she was saying goodbye. Thankfully the vet didn't give up and immediately put her on Vitamin K to counter act the rat poison and since then she's been fighting to stay alive.
You are on here because you want to make a difference in the world, you are an amazing human and I love you for that. Please make a huge difference in our world and help save this little girl.
