Meredith Edwards loved people, she loved animals and she loved this world. She gave her heart and soul to those she met and never looked back or doubted it. She gave so much of herself to others that she might not have had a lot for herself.
She was born in Texarkana, TX in 1984 to the most loving mother anyone could ask for and a Dad who saw her as an angel. She has now rejoined our mother in the great beyond, and the thought of this brings so much relief and hope.
Meredith and I were very close in age and in mind sets, we both loved similar music, love for animals, biking, love for street art. She would send me songs that she was listening to a lot and share what was going on in our lives. Even though she was in NYC and I lived in Dallas, I always felt connected with her. Meredith was very close with her older sister and sidekick, Amanda, & her mini-sidekick Ruby. Meredith was a joyful & dutiful aunt and upon seeing Ruby would dash across traffic if need be to get to her quicker to put a smile on her face.
Unfortunately for Meredith, she took the burdens of others as her own in a time when she really needed to care for herself. In the fall of 2018, Meredith suffered a self-inflicted accident that forever changed the way she could interact with the world. For almost 3 years, she was confined to a bed in a nursing home, unable to experience the world she loved and the people she cared for most. Even more heartbreaking is the circumstances that COVID brought had left us unable to communicate with or visit Mer.
This past weekend, Mer made her transition from this world. She left behind her loving father, sister, younger brother, and her niece Ruby who she adored. Her transition comes at a time when my family is struggling financially. So I am asking for your help in getting my sister cremated and her remains sent to our family. We plan on scattering some of her remains in the roots of a dogwood tree so that each year the blooms will remind us of Meredith. We really appreciate your support and contributions. I truly believe Meredith would hug every single one of you she could if she were here.
