SQF Complex Fire Fundraiser

On August 19th, 2020, after a lightning strike, a forest fire began in the Golden Trout Wilderness and slowly expanded into the Sequoia National Monument and Sequoia & Inyo National Forests. After weeks of hard work and successful containment strategies by firefighters, the fire veered West towards our special communities of the Upper Tule Corridor. The Castle Fire, now known as the SQF Complex Fire, is still raging and destroying communities in it's path.
Our heroic firefighters have not only been battling this beast of a fire, but also against a lack of resources caused by multiple fires up and down the West Coast.
This fire is not over, our communities are still very much at risk, people have lost everything. The Ponderosa Volunteer Fire Brigade is raising money to assist with any and all efforts associated with the SQF Complex Fire. We hope that money raised can help with evacuees, rebuilding, and supporting our entire community in this time of need with whatever lies ahead.
The Ponderosa Fire Brigade is a volunteer fire department located in the heart of the SQF Complex Fire. Ponderosa was the first community to be evacuated from this fire, is currently still standing and has been supporting the fire crews for several weeks now with food and lodging. California Service Dog Academy, a 501c3 non-profit, is helping to facilitate collecting donations for the SQF Complex Fire. As such, they’ve teamed up to sponsor the Ponderosa Fire Brigade by bringing in tax deductible donations while their 501c3 finalizes. All donations during this activity will go to the Ponderosa Fire Brigade to assist the communities in rebuilding... please consider donating and sharing!
