Help us raise money for Blood Cancer UK in memory of our mum

As many of you know already, our beautiful mum was cruelly taken from us last July, when she was only 62 years old.

In October 2023, she was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Whilst very rare, it is now considered the most curable form of adult leukemia. Mum promptly started treatment, hours within a diagnosis in A&E. She responded really well to treatment and after one round of chemotherapy, there was no trace of the cancer. She continued to have several rounds of chemo to ensure there were no lurking cancerous cells and at the beginning of May 2024, we were given the amazing news that she was in complete remission. At last our lives could return to a bit of normality! However not long after, mum began experiencing a range of other unusual symptoms that were initially put down to the side effects of chemo. Unfortunately though, this was not the case and in fact the cancer had returned and also spread to her central nervous system. Again, so rare! Despite the incredible fight she put up, devastatingly she didn’t respond to treatment and sadly passed away a few weeks later.

Our mum was the most incredible woman. She lit up the lives of so many people. She was such a kind, caring and funny person. One of life’s pure gems. We are so proud to have been able to call her our mum. We still ask ourselves every day, why her!? How can life be so cruel?

We will be running a half marathon this October along with our cousins Abi and Steph, and our uncle Andy, in memory of our amazing mum, who was so unbelievably brave throughout her battle with leukemia. She never ever gave up hope! Here’s hoping that the money we raise will help save the lives of those who have been diagnosed with leukemia or other blood related cancers.

Thank you so much in advance for your contribution towards this cause that means so much to us and our family!
