If you are reading this story, by now you know that on May 4th, while lying in bed, our friend and my brother-in-law, Dave Armstrong's life was irrevocably altered.

An  Aortic Dissection at 50-years-old led to a life-saving 8 1/2 hour open heart surgery, which was followed by an extremely difficult 26-day hospital stay.  Dave has returned home and is enduring a challenging period of rehab and recovery--he's not out of the woods yet.

My sister Laura and nephews Caleb and Colin are facing a challenging summer as well.  While their family is strong, the financial burden of facing serious illness is an additional stress that many families in similar situation face alone. I am hopeful our DaveStrong community can help to alleviate some of that anxiety for Dave, Laura, and their boys.

If you know anything about my sister Laura, in particular, you know she has an unmistakable work ethic and is deeply proud of her work as a nurse.  The meals, visits, gift cards, and prayers helped carry her through the crisis--thank you! Dave is very loved, and by lifting the financial stress his family is facing and standing alongside Laura and the boys, we can help support his full recovery.

Please consider a donation.  A community is truly measured in times of crisis, and I thank you for continually being a part of the DaveStrong community.
