First off anyone who knows me knows my extreme bond I have with my cats. Unfortunately Thursday when I got off work and got home I had to rush Kino to the ER. After arriving it was determined he had a urinary blockage, which is life threatening left untreated. So I chose my only affordable option to drain the blockage and leave him on a fluid treatment for a couple hours then come home with pain meds. I didn’t arrive back home until Friday morning at 8am, after only being home for around 2 hours monitoring him, he started foaming at his mouth and I immediately rushed back to the ER. Once I made it I was told he had already blocked back up and cannot urinate still. With my options limited there was an alternative surgery that they perform for male cats called a PU, where they reconstruct his urethra line. This was performed Friday at 4pm, and he came home with me at 9pm. I monitored him extremely closely and he had started moving to get his cone off, once he had moved I noticed an excessive amount of blood coming from his incision and puddling up on the blanket. I immediately floored it to the ER, once again. After they received Kino I was told he should have received blood work after his surgery (did not), his kidney levels were 4x the normal amount, his body temperature was dropping, and the blood would not stop from the incision. So I refused that he would be coming home with me and have been managing to keep him hospitalized in the ICU at Saint Francis since Friday night at around 11pm. I have checked on him constantly and made numerous visits in this time, his critical condition has substantially improved, has been urinating, and his incision is started the healing process. His kidney levels are still very high so he is not going to be discharged until that has a solution. Kino is only 3 years old and is the strongest little dude ever, he is fighting so hard and that’s exactly what I am doing for him. Anybody who is close with me probably knows who Lil K is (his mom). I unfortunately lost her in August of last year and I was unable to have an option to save her, I have made it a promise to myself and her I would do absolutely anything to take care of her babies. I am trying to retain back cost, pay back anyone who has already helped me during this time, and prepare for future cost. This has been the most traumatic 36 hours i’ve ever endured. I cannot lose my baby :(
