Baby Lane

Hi friends and family, I’m Maggie weagley and I'm creating this gofundme for my sister Jamie and her growing family. On February 27 Jamie woke up to her water breaking 14 weeks before her due date. After arriving at the emergency room, she was boarded upon a flight for life over to a larger hospital on Oahu that specializes in childbirth and women’s health. About half of all pregnancies will result in birth or emergency c-section in the first week after the water breaks prematurely. The earlier a baby is born, the higher the risk severe complications or death. Therefore, the doctors are trying to delay birth if at all possible. Jamie’s goal is to make it another 10 weeks in the ICU with the baby in utero so that he can have the best fighting chance.

Things could change, very quickly and at any moment for Jamie and the baby. Chris has been by her side, staying in the hospital room with her and hopes to continue to do so. He also has been flying back and forth from Maui to Oahu to take care of things as needed. Jamie has decent health insurance, but as we all know, medical bills get out of control very quickly. This several month stay for Jamie, as well as her baby is not what any new set of parents are prepared to deal with. We are hoping to help Jamie and Chris out as best we can. One of the most important things for Jamie right now is maintaining positivity. That is very hard to do alone in a hospital. We would like for Chris to be able to stay with her on Oahu to provide all the love and support that she needs. 

My sister has always wanted to be a mother, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will be an absolutely amazing one. She has more unconditional love stored in her heart than anyone I’ve ever come across, and I know how incredibly lucky this baby is going to be, even before he enters the world. Falling into this situation is not how any of us could have imagined her pregnancy would go. In this moment, it is immensely important for us to come together and give her as much love and support as humanly possible. I care for her so deeply and want to do everything I can to make sure she is prepared after the baby’s birth, and help to ease the stress of the financial burden she is facing. She is so incredibly strong, but no one should have to endure this type of pressure and anxiety. Thank you so much in advance for helping my sister, Chris, and their beautiful baby.
