Dana is 38 years young and is a beautiful wife and a mother of two precious children. She is beloved by her friends and family and they mean the world to her. Dana is the kind of woman who is a pleasure to be around and is known to be the upbeat, positive and supportive one in her circles. Most of all, she is loving and extremely sweet, even when dealing with the unkind surprises that we at times must face in life.
DANA'S DIAGNOSIS & SURGERY
On February 19, 2016 Dana was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma and taken out of work per Doctor's orders on March 2, 2016. Her first surgery, a thyroidectomy and neck dissection, was on March 10, 2016 and she made it through with her family by her side. She is currently in the recovery phase and has a long road ahead of her.
RECOVERY
Dana has an amazing family that has stepped up and has helped with many things that have come up throughout her recovery, as every day has presented its challenges. This recovery period will last at least six to eight weeks, after which she will move on to the next phase of her treatment.
FUTURE TREATMENT
Dana is at the beginning of her battle and has a long road ahead of medical appointments, procedures, tests and medicine. Whether or not she will need further surgeries is not yet known. She will soon begin her treatment with radioactive iodine and she must remain in seclusion during this process. The seclusion proves difficult for anyone, but more so for someone like Dana, who is extremely close to all of her loved ones and is a person many rely on.
DONATIONS
Dana is out of work and will be for some time to come. Since Dana's health is the most imporant thing, and she has support emotionally and mentally, we were not fully aware of all of the financial help she would also need. She has been out of work for weeks. It is far too soon for her Doctor to determine when she will be able to return to work. Dana has such a beautiful soul and is always so helpful and thoughtful, even to strangers. She deserves to get through this without additional suffering due to all of the financial woes that one goes through when in recovery. The financial stress, when in recovery, is enought to delay any progress. Our plan is to assist with the financial hardships of her ordeal so that she may focus on her health, treatment, recovery, and getting better for her family. Especially for her children who need their mother dearly. No donation is too small. Any amount is a blessing and will be greatly appreciated. The donations will be used for things such as:
* food
* transportations
* rent
* household bills
* medicine & supplies
Let's try to help a woman who has helped so many others and never expects anything in return but maybe a hug or a smile. We will update everyone throughout her recovery, and all other future treatments. Your assistance will always be remembered in our hearts and we will be forever grateful.
