On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica. A category 5 hurricane that left devastating damage to the island, but particularly the west side. The storm resulted in widespread destruction of homes and buildings, flooding, and infrastructure damage, with some communities completely destroyed. Key infrastructure like roads, power lines, and ports were severely impacted, leading to power outages, isolation of communities, and a desperate need for clean water, food, and shelter. Many families have lost everything, and we want to help in the most direct way possible, by providing communities directly impacted with the essentials they need to rebuild and heal.
