Sprockets cancer treatments

This is sprocket! She’s been my companion for almost 12 years. She’s still a bundle of energy and love for anyone she meets.

Recently we found a tumor on her tongue and immediately got her in to get it removed and submitted to CSU for cancer. When the results came back in, we found that it was malignant melanoma, and is extremely aggressive. I felt the shards of sharp pain all the way in my stomach from my heart breaking into millions of pieces. She still has so much love to give, things to see!

We then recently met with the oncology department at CSU where they found the cancer hadn’t spread to lungs or lymph nodes. This is genuinely a miracle! So that being said, they gave me an option for a melanoma vaccine that may help her fight off the cancer when it (which with this aggressive cancer, is inevitable) comes back.

The vaccine is expensive, but given the circumstances is optimistic. It’s 4 rounds of shots, every other week. I think we have a chance to fight this! I can’t wait to take her in more adventures because we were able to fight this!
