Dear parents and carers,
Many of you know who FOSSA (Friends of Sproatley School Academy) are but those who have recently joined the school, FOSSA plays a big part in running events and supporting the school throughout the year. It is run voluntarily by parents and some staff within the school, working to raise additional funds and providing community functions.
Previous money raised has gone towards an outdoor reflection area providing us with a valuable addition to the outdoor area. It has also been used to partly fund school trips, provide playground seating and signage, craft resources and much more.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID19 pandemic the school PTA has sadly had to forego all our fundraising events that would normally take place. During the 2020 school year we have missed our annual sponsored walk, secret shop and one of our main events the summer fair to name but a few. One year on and the COVID19 pandemic continues to put a hold on fundraising. This means not only have the children and families missed some fantastic events but the PTA have missed out on some huge fundraising opportunities.
Our school climbing frame used by all years was deemed unsafe to use and has been condemned. Having the last 12 months of their education and friendships disrupted we would love to be able to provide them with a new space to play. As parents and carers, we know how important physical play is to our children and it would be nice to have a place where the children can enjoy being outside in the fresh air playing with their friends.
We have set up a crowdfunding page (Sproatley Academy, Climbing Frame) to raise donations to go towards making this happen. The school and FOSSA are also looking into grants and additional funding. Pence, pounds, big money, whatever you can spare all adds up and will make a huge difference.
If anyone knows of any local businesses who may donate to our cause, then please forward them this page and spread the word.
Thank you in advance for your support.
