As you may have heard, Paul Sprinkle passed away suddenly last week. This would have been Paul and Linda’s 40th wedding anniversary year. Linda is still reeling, but she and their sons are also dealing with some difficult practical realities. She can’t get an appointment with Social Security for almost two months (they don’t take walk-ins for this) and then it may be another month or two before she starts receiving surviving spouse benefits. She’s also not sure how long it will be before she will start receiving surviving spouse benefits from Paul’s Lockheed pension.
