As you know, our beloved pool is in need of a HUGE face-lift! This past season, we saw bigger cracks in the cement, tiles falling off day by day and more holes in the plaster. Now is the time, during the off-season to do some fundraising & get our pool fixed. We had a successful swim season, the Club had a successful summer season & we had a very successful City Meet. BUT, we need to raise more money! We need to raise another $50,000! We need to resurface, re-tile, get new coping, new drain system and get everything up to code & ADA compliant. A pretty new Springwood pool!!!
We are a small club but our families are so committed. We have alumni family with grown children that still come out , volunteer and support the swim team . We have grandparents who raised their children at the club, now bringing their grandchildren. When you ask a Springwood family what keeps them coming back year after year even when there are so many other pool clubs in the area, you will hear "Because of the families" . It does take a village to raise a child and I feel gratitude to be part of Springwood's Village.
The following is a message from two long time pool member:
~My family have been members for 14 years now. Our four children have grown up at the pool, three of them worked there, all four have swam on swim team and our daughter who is only 12 years old has many more summers to have fun. She is over there every single morning in the summer with swim team and back in the afternoon after horse back riding for fun swim with her friends. We spend Thursdy nights with other families BBQing, letting go of the work week and watching the kids swimming under the stars. I can't imagine spending our summers any other way.

~"We joined Springwood when we moved to Clayton in 1999. It's the only club with a baby pool and a nice swimming pool (with a diving board!) in the area. My family has enjoyed many years of swimming and making new friends at Springwood. They have a great BBQ picnic area for parties. The life guards and swim coaches are great, very friendly and also very watchful of the swimmers."
