Have you noticed a serious cat overpopulation issue here in Springboro? Well, I can’t ignore it. I know it’s not my problem, but I know exactly how it got started: people are quick to take in a cat, but not so eager to do the responsible thing, which is getting it spayed or neutered. I see these strays running around all over town every single day while doing my job. It breaks my heart. 

So, I educated myself on the art of Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR). When I trap strays in a certain location, I take them to get fixed, and then I promptly return them from whence they came from after a 24 hour healing period. You may have seen some I’ve done already - they have one of their ear-tips missing (that is standard). 

This makes it so that there are LESS cats running around YOUR town, guys! I promise you, I’m helping you out! I feel the need to point this out because some people seriously misconstrue what I do as mischievous and full of malicious contempt. 

 I utilize the wonderful traveling “Fix’n Wag’n” whenever it rolls into Meadville. This has become my passion, but it is very expensive. I have been paying for their spay/neuters out-of-pocket. It’s something I simply cannot afford. Fix’n Wag’n is low-cost and I love them, but $90 per cat really adds up. I have been putting the expenses on my credit card and now have significant debt from this.

People have suggested I start a GoFundMe for years now. I just thought I had to have a Facebook account to start one; I guess not!

I would greatly appreciate the public’s financial assistance with this. I feel in my heart that I am doing my town a great service… it’s just putting me into debt.
