Megan Gallagher—a third-generation lifelong resident of Spring Valley, IL—is a single mother working two jobs, to provide for her children, Iris and Oliver. She’s strong, resilient, and endlessly loving. Her children are smart, athletic, creative, and full of promise. Together, they’ve faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.

But now, they face something no family should ever endure.

A fire destroyed their rental home. Everything is gone. Clothes, furniture, toys, school supplies, cherished keepsakes—all lost in minutes. Megan did not have renters insurance. The rental house was a total loss. Nothing was salvageable.

Imagine This

Close your eyes and picture your home. The bed where your child sleeps. The kitchen table where you share meals. The books you read at bedtime. The shoes by the door. The toothbrushes in the sink. Now imagine walking out for work—and coming back to find it all gone.
